Lady and the Tramp Movie Night
One of the most iconic scenes in a Disney movie has got to be the spaghettie pull scene in the movie, Lady and the Tramp. And for this movie night I put together a game to commemorate that scene. The Spaghetti Pull Game is a simple and exciting game that your kids will go crazy for! My kids loved helping to make the game. And they got so excited once they saw it all put together with the prizes. This game would also be perfect for Valentine's Day! I know that this is a game that we are going to add to our holiday game rotation, along with Bingo and Don't Eat Pete.
This game was easy to put together and can be customized for any scenario. I only did six plates because it was just for my two older kids. You can add as many plates as you want. You can also decorate the plates how you want or just leave them blank. Customize for any holiday or party. Read below for step by step instructions to make the game.
And to get ready for the movie you know that we had to have some spaghetti and meatballs. This is a dinner that we have often, but pairing it with the "fancy cups" and bubbly juice made it extra special for our movie night. I also added a bowl of Scooby Snacks to add to the festivities. We are busy! But adding just a few extra touches can make a regular movie night into a special one!
All right, for the Spaghetti Pull Game you just need a few supplies that you probably already have on hand. You need however many plates you want, depending on how any people are going to play, and if you want them to win more than one prize. Then you just need one solo cup, some yarn, glue, tape, scissors, and a brush. And don't forget some fun treats, toys, or cash to put on the plates for prizes.
First you will take some glue and brush it all over the plate. And then string along some yarn along the plate to make it look like spaghetti. Push down on the yarn to help it stick to the plate, and then set it aside to let them dry.
Next you need to put a hole in the bottom of the cup. I just poked my scissors through and gave them a little twist to create a circle.
Next you need to cut 36" pieces of yarn for however many plates you have. I had six plates so I cut six pieces of yarn. And they don't have to be exactly 36" but that is about the length that worked for us.
Once each plate is attached to a piece of yarn you will need to feed the yarn through the hole in the cup. I found it easiest to put all of the pieces of yarn together and push them through the hole at the same time. Once you get part of the yarn through the rest of the yarn should pull through with it.
Now you just need to add your prizes and play! For prizes I had a combination of items from the dollar store, candy, and some cash. You could use anything! To play the game you take turns pulling on a strand of yarn to see what plate you get. Once a plate is pulled the person pulling gets to keep the prize on that plate. Then you pull that plate away from the cup so that it's piece of yarn is removed from the game. And then the next person gets a turn to go until all of the plates are claimed. Have fun!!
