Tangled Movie Night

Get out your frying pan and get ready for a fun movie night! Tangled is my favorite Disney princess movie, mainly because it is full of comedic relief. It gets our whole family giggling throughout. The parts with the frying pan is one of those scenes that gets us all laughing. So for this movie night I made Shepards Pie, in a cast iron pan. The Shepards Pie doesn't look like much but it is a family favorite. I didn't grow up with Shepard's Pie but after making it once for my own family it immediately made it to our menu rotation. Shepard's Pie is the best way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. Or if you don't have leftovers you can also just use instant potatoes, this makes the meal a quick and easy one.

While watching the movie we had a donut tower to snack on and we each colored our own paper lanterns. I have provided the printable to make a roof for the donuts and your own lanterns! For the braid I just cut about 30 strands of yellow yarn and did a quick braid. It added a nice touch to our donut tower. To make the roof and lanterns you will need to print out this printable onto card stock. I did the roof on brown card stock and the lanterns on white. Then start by coloring and decorating the lanterns however you want.

Once it is colored how you want cut it out along the outline, the handle too! After you cut it out you then fold the lantern in half.

After it is folded you then cut along each line.

To finish it off you glue the long edge together and add the handle. I used glue dots to make it quick and easy, but a glue stick or tape should work too.

I raided my Halloween storage to find some Jack-O-Lantern tea lights and we stuck those inside. And Ta-Dah!! You have a cute Tangled lantern!
